About MyGuide

My Guide was founded by Hugo Trentelman and his sister Kristel Trentelman. Together, they epitomise professional service and commitment, and are devoted to making your stay in the Netherlands easier and more pleasant.

Hugo Trentelman Hugo discovered his passion for travel and different cultures during the time that he spent abroad, living with young people from all corners of the globe. In 2004, he graduated from the University of Leeds, having studied International Relations. After his studies, he decided to further follow his passion, and went to live abroad once more. After working in France for six months, he travelled through Australia and New Zealand. When he returned to the Netherlands, Hugo started work with as a recruiter for Balans Selective. Hugo now works at My Guide, where he uses his knowledge and experience to support international students. Hugo comes from Doesburg, a small town in the Netherlands. When not working at My Guide, Hugo likes to travel, go to the pub with friends, or eat out with his girlfriend.

Kristel Trentelman Kristel is Hugo’s younger sister, and also has plenty of travelling experience. After she completed her studies, Kristel and her boyfriend spent six months in Australia. Here, she discovered that a long stay in a foreign land can be difficult. For this reason, her motivation to support and make life easier for international students through her work with My Guide is extremely high. Her work in the logistics sector allowed Kristel to fully develop her outstanding planning and organisational skills, which serve her extremely well in her work with My Guide. In her free time, Kristel likes to have fun with her friends or spend time at home with her boyfriend.
