Studying abroad is a unique and unforgettable experience, something that you will look back upon for the rest of your life. A challenging course, a different culture and new people are just some of the factors that make studying in the Netherlands a fantastic experience.

However, despite all these enjoyable and exciting things, studying abroad can also be difficult and scary. You are waking up alone in a foreign land, you don’t know the language and you don’t know your way round. The doubts begin even before you leave your homeland: How do I get a visa? Which university or college should I choose? How do I find a place to live? These are all problems that you must deal with before you leave. You then arrive in the Netherlands and find yourself completely alone. You have no social network to fall back on and no organisations that can help you. For example, where must you go if you have a disagreement with your landlord?
